Welcome to the Votes at 16 website!

Votes at 16 is near the top of the political agenda, and right now we have the best chance ever to make it a reality.

The Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers and senior politicians from all political parties are talking about Votes at 16. It's party policy for the Labour Party, the Liberal Democrats, the Scottish National Party, Plaid Cymru and many others. The Scottish Parliament, the Welsh Assembly and the House of Lords all back it. The Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey and Austria have all done it. The Youth Citizenship Commission, set up to investigate lowering the voting age, found two thirds of all respondents and three quarters of young people in favour of it.

Now it's time to make it happen. We know it's the right thing to do, and that people want it. We need to make sure the politicians keep their promises and take this opportunity to make Votes at 16 a reality. Read about the case for Votes at 16, join us today, and help make history for young people and democracy in Britain.

You can make a difference!

We need young people who will come forward and show politicians and the public just how passionate they are about taking part in democracy.

The Votes at 16 Coalition wants you to become a Votes at 16 Media Ambassador, taking part in radio and TV interviews with local and even national news.

We also need people who are passionate about Votes at 16 and can help campaign in their local area: organising talks and debates, speaking in schools, running petitions and stalls and lobbying politicians and the local media.
